Breast
reduction

Some just don’t like large breast sizes, while others think large breasts don’t fit them. We offer you the breast reduction to get the desired breast shape.

Women with small sizes dream of large breasts, but some of those who have been given naturally large breasts aren’t happy about this at all. This is especially true for girls who are professional athletes, ballet performers, or dancers. Moreover, too large breasts can cause low self-esteem, stoop, and aggravated spine problems. The breast reduction procedure will help preserve physical and mental health as well as maximize your athletic or creative potential.

Breast reduction surgery is also known as reduction mammaplasty. In biology, the term ‘reduction’ (reductio in Latin)—among other things—means a decrease, while mamma in Latin means a mammary gland. During the procedure, the surgeon removes excess adipose tissue and skin from the breasts. The areolas and nipples are reattached at a higher position as skin grafts.

Preparations for breast reduction surgery, including tests and examinations, will take several days. Reduction mammoplasty takes 3.5–4 hours. After surgery, the patient stays in a single room for a day and then is discharged. The full rehabilitation will take 2–3 months, while the postoperative scars will become subtle in 6–12 months.

Our experience

Before

surgery

At the consultation, you discuss the desired breast shape with your plastic surgeon. We can correct the asymmetrical breasts and areola shape along with the reduction procedure. To minimize the risks, you’ll undergo the check-up at our medical club.
During

surgery

Reduction surgery takes from 2 to 5 hours. Our anaesthesiologist chooses the least toxic anaesthesia, while the surgeon uses the latest surgical techniques. During the procedure, you’re constantly monitored by the team of doctors and medical staff.
After

surgery

After the procedure, you’ll be taken to a single suite where your personal nurse and doctor will look after you every second. After reduction surgery, the rehabilitation is easier than after augmentation. On the first day, you stay at the medical club. The recovery period takes 2–3 weeks, but you must wear special compression garments for 6–7 weeks.

Our approach to breast reduction

We perfectly understand every client who has decided to reduce their breasts. Large breasts aren’t always comfortable. Too large breasts can cause both psychological discomfort and health problems. Therefore, reduction surgery tackles not only aesthetic problems but also functional ones.

Thanks to reduction, we preserve the breast shape you’d like to get as efficiently as possible. It’s because the surgeon removes excess fat and glandular tissue during that procedure.

Q&A

How many sizes can a woman go down in breast reduction?

Every woman has her own ideal breast size. Our experts will offer you the best solution. They take into account your body features and therefore offer a breast size which look harmonious and proportionate to your body.

When is it permissible to wear regular lingerie after reduction?

For a month, you need to wear compression garments which will support and fix your breasts after reduction surgery. Then you can switch to regular lingerie. Our experts recommend refraining from wearing underwire, strapless, and push-up bras for 3 months. You’d better opt for the sports tops.

When is it permissible to drive a car after breast reduction?

Right after the procedure, you must keep your body safe. Therefore, you’ll be able to drive a car no earlier than 3 days after being discharged from our medical club. Better yet, you need to allow 7–10 days for this purpose.

Reduction mammoplasty techniques

Today, the most common breast reduction technique is inverted ‘T’ or anchor breast reduction surgery. This technique is used when the surgeon needs to reduce the mammary glands significantly. In this case, the surgeon makes the anchor-shaped (inverted ‘T’) incision around the new position of the areolas and down each breast, forming external and internal skin and fat flaps and making the incision in the submammary fold.

Regardless of the reduction mammoplasty technique, you need to refrain from any physical activity and wear compression garments within a month after the procedure. You’ll be able to visit the swimming pool, gym, and sauna after 2–3 months. However, you’re allowed to have a shower as early as 2 days after breast reduction surgery.
