Rhinoplasty

Irregular nose shapes and sizes are seen as facial deformities. This causes negative inner experiences. We’re ready to fix the problem.

Irregular facial proportions can make person’s looks bright, charismatic, and memorable. But they trigger self-doubt and psychological insecurities which spoil adult socialization, successful career, and personal life in many cases. If your problems result from dissatisfaction with your nose shape and size, they can be solved. Our experienced plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty will help you out.

Rhinoplasty is nasal surgery which helps correct congenital or acquired deformities or restores a missing part or an entire organ. It’s the first nasal plastic operation and one of the oldest surgical procedures. It’s first mentioned in an Egyptian manuscript dating back to the 3rd century BC.

Modern rhinoplasty helps get rid of any nasal deformities, but the most popular procedures include removing a dorsal hump and correcting a crooked, saddle, or snub nose. Today, it’s fashionable to undergo rhinoplasty to fix a snub nose as well as correct a nasal tip: ‘hook’, ‘drop’, or bifurcation.

Nasal tip narrowing procedures will help some patients to improve their appearance, while others would like to make it less sharp.

At Medical Club Grace, we see reduction rhinoplasty which involves correcting the ala and nostril shape becoming increasingly popular.

Our experience

Before

surgery

Proper preparations are essential. Therefore, we advise you on every detail, simulate the future results, and dispel any doubts you may have before surgery. Then you undergo the complete body check-up to exclude any medical contraindications.
During

surgery

The time your rhinoplasty will take depends on the technique—closed or open. Our expert determines which rhinoplasty will be more efficient in your case. We perform such surgery under general anaesthesia.
After

surgery

The doctor will apply a special retentive bandage, namely a splint. You’ll spend the first day in our suite under the thorough care of our medical staff. You need to follow all of your surgeon’s recommendations to make your recovery as efficient as possible.

Our approach to rhinoplasty

Your nose is the central element of your face. When your nose size and shape aren’t proportionate to other facial features, the aesthetics of your face go away. You think about that all the time. Your inner perceptions of your nose contradict reality and thereby feel increasingly insecure.

Rhinoplasty will help restore the aesthetic and harmonious look of your face. Our experts correct any asymmetry, remove the dorsal hump, and narrow the nasal tip. They do their best to make sure you get the nose shape and size you want.

By carrying out detailed consultations as well as 2D and 3D modelling, we’ll be able to predict the results even before any surgeries.

Q&A

When can I return to work after nasal plastic surgery?

It depends. Some clients stay at home for a week or two.
Note that the swelling is still noticeable in the second week after surgery. Therefore, our experts recommend taking a 2–3 week vacation and staying at home. This helps make you more comfortable both physically and mentally.

Will there be any scars after rhinoplasty?

In case of closed rhinoplasty, all of the scars are hidden inside the nose, so they aren’t visible at all. If we talk about open rhinoplasty, then the patient will have a scar in the columella region. Over time, such scars become completely invisible.

How will my breathing change after rhinoplasty?

At the beginning of your rehabilitation, you may experience temporary breathing problems. During this period, your body adapts to the new shape of your nose. Over time, your breathing will change for the better. Our experts perform correction procedures based on not only the client’s aesthetic requirements but also medical grounds. A deviated nasal septum can cause breathing problems for years. In this case, rhinoplasty is coupled with septoplasty—a surgical procedure to straighten the nasal septum.

Pros and cons of rhinoplasty

The pros of rhinoplasty include psychological comfort and self-confidence you feel 1–2 months after surgery.
The cons of rhinoplasty include possible dissatisfaction with aesthetic results, although this is rare nowadays, especially at Medical Club Grace. Before surgery, we enable you to look to the future using state-of-the-art computer-aided 2D and 3D modelling technologies.

Types of rhinoplasty

Types of rhinoplasty are as follows:

1. Depending on the purpose of surgery:
o Cosmetic
o Reconstructive
o Secondary/revision
2. Depending on the type of deformity (shape or function) and the location of deformities to be fixed:
o Straightening the nasal septum—septoplasty
o Reshaping the nose, nostrils, tip, or columella (a septum between nostrils)
o Augmenting nasal bones and strengthening their structures—augmentation rhinoplasty
o Septorhinoplasty (septoplasty and rhinoplasty being performed simultaneously)
3. Depending on the degree of invasiveness and the type of surgery:
○ Open rhinoplasty
○ Closed rhinoplasty
Closed rhinoplasty is less injurious and leaves no external scars. Besides, by maintaining skin integrity, the surgeon can see the results of reshaping your nose right during the procedure and help you recover and get back on track faster.

Contraindications to rhinoplasty

Unfortunately, nose reshaping surgery isn’t available to everyone. You’ll be denied surgery if you have:
o Multiple allergies to local and general anaesthetics
o Severe diseases of internal organs
o Severe diabetes mellitus
o Oncological diseases
o Clotting disorders
o Acute and recurrent chronic infections, including facial herpes
o Folliculitis and other skin disorders in the nasal area
With rare exceptions, we don’t perform rhinoplasty if the patient is under 18 or over 55–60 years old. Nasal plastic surgery should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
